The reporter wrote in quote:
There are so many things wrong with this that I don't even know where to begin. The statement about "the 44-year-old set builder. "If I had another goal, it would be to remove the 'under God' phrase from the Pledge of Allegiance — but that's a little too big for me to take on for right now." is all I'll address for now. Our nation was built on religious freedom. Our "one nation under God" has flourished because of this. The more that God is squeezed out, the more our nation fails. It is all so simple, and we take so very much for granted. To the haters I say "LEAVE." Go to another country to spout your blasphemy Take your hater selves and just try and find another country to embrace you and your foolishness. If you're an atheist, well good for you, enjoy this life because that is all you're going to get. To believers I say, ENOUGH. When atheists start trampling our rights of religious freedom then we have had ENOUGH. GOD BLESS AMERICA.3 Replies
I thought long and hard about what I wrote and the 2 responses. Then I wrote:
OK, here's the thing. People suing each other. How does that settle anything? Whoever has the most money wins? Why can't we all just get along? In any relationship there is give and take. This group can have their display right alongside that group's display. No energy exerted or wasted over who thinks they are right/wrong.
Political correctness- what is that? I can not wrap my head around it, but it seems to permeate everything people do. Worrying so much about what others think-- they are not enjoying their own lives, they're constantly looking over their shoulders to see if someone agrees/disagrees with them in whatever form of self-righteous indignation that comes out, (sort of like my original post.) For instance-- all the media attention of people suing others-- and for what? To prove a point? TALK to each other, face to face, civilly and use good judgement. Not in a courtroom somewhere trying to set a new precedent in law where it becomes a very expensive media frenzy. Use common sense. Find common ground from which to start from, not in anger but in fairness to BOTH, then everyone wins. Well, maybe not that $800 an hr. lawyer, or the reporter who can cause the most grief; quit giving them that power. Quit giving them your money. Instead donate it to a charity. Take your mother on that trip she always wanted to go on, you get the picture.
